ikaSystems to Demonstrate Healthcare Payers’ New Technology
Paradigm at AHIP’s Institute 2008
Health Plan Leaders Will Share Success Stories in a Series of
Presentations
This week, America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP)
Institute 2008 kicks off in San Francisco at the Moscone Center West.
ikaSystems, a premier provider of enterprise-level Web-based
technologies for healthcare payer organizations, will highlight its new
technology paradigm for healthcare payers, which entails the creation
of a modular, transactional portal strategy to reduce administrative,
medical and information technology cost while increasing health plans’
market agility.
On Thursday, June 19, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Cynthia Burghard,
ikaSystems’ senior vice president of market intelligence, will moderate
a panel presentation entitled, “Gain Agility, Savings and Competitive
Differentiation by Using an Administrative Transactional Portal
Platform.” Panelists will be Steve Wiggins, managing director at Essex
Woodlands Health Ventures, Dave Henderson, executive vice president and
chief marketing officer at MVP Health Plan, and Ed McCallister, chief
information officer at UPMC Health Plan. This concurrent educational
session, part of Institute 2008’s “Driving Innovation to Advance Care”
track, will address trends in product design, ways to add new channels
of distribution and technology options for online administration of
sales, underwriting and customer acquisition.

Strategy for Commercial Growth,” presented by Ed McCallister on
Thursday, June 19, from 6:00 to 6:20 p.m.
- A reprise of Dave Henderson’s presentation on Thursday, June 19,
from 7:15 to 7:35 p.m.
