ikaSystems’ announces selection by Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc., of
its ikaDWH (Datawarehousing and Decision Support System), ikaUA (Utilization Analytics) and ikaProfyle (Physician Profiling) systems

Corporation announced today that Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc.
(METCARE) (AMEX:MDF) has entered into an agreement to implement
ikaSystems’ web enabled ikaDWH (Datawarehousing and Decision Support
System), ikaUA (Utilization Analytics) and ikaProfyle (Physician
Profiling) systems.
ikaDWH (Datawarehousing and Decision support system) provides real
time online access to medical and pharmacy costs for decision
support for both - METCARE of Florida, Inc. (Provider Services
Network) and METCARE Health Plans, Inc. (Medicare Advantage Health
Plan). ikaDWH is a central repository of data for physicians (PCPs
and Specialists), pharmacies, members, hospitals and other
facilities.
ikaUA (Utilization Analytics) and ikaProfyle (Physician Profiling)
systems provide analyzed information on utilization of healthcare
dollars by PCPs, specialists, members, hospitals and other
facilities. Data is analyzed after adjusting for age, gender,
morbidities and co-morbidities (case-mix), benefits payments and
RVUs. Such adjustments allow for a just and fair comparison of
relative performance. Population based analysis (rather than episode
based analysis) determines the effectiveness of ‘gate-keeper’
function of PCPs. Specialists who perform procedures (PRG –
procedurally related group specialists) are analyzed differently
from specialists who do not perform procedures (MRG – medically
related group specialists). Physicians are tiered based on economic
and quality performance and this forms an effective basis for pay for performance
programs.
