Parkview Health Plan Services to implement the ikaEnterprise
System as its total Technology Outsourcing Solution
Parkview Health Plan Services (HPS) a division of Parkview Health,
has contracted with ikaSystems to implement its ikaEnterprise system
as a technology outsourcing solution. Parkview Health is a not-for-
profit, community owned system that is a major Northeast Indiana
health care provider. Parkview Health owns seven hospitals with 777
beds and has more than 6,100 employees. Health Plan Services
administers the Parkview owned Signature Care PPO with 9,000
providers throughout the State of Indiana and 60,000 members.
"We are excited about implementing the ikaEnterprise system as a
technology solution for our health plan," says Philip Henneman,
director of clinical and technical operations for Health Plan
Services. "We have chosen carefully. By far, ikaSystems offers the
most comprehensive solution on the market today."
ikaSystems will install the entire ikaEnterprise System, which
consists of five self-service portals and a series of business and
transactional systems: core claims adjudication, disease management,
utilization management and HEDIS® reporting in record time.
"Selecting ikaSystems was an excellent choice, not only in terms of
functionality but also in terms of their excellent history of
customer service," says Henneman. "In a project of this size and
this importance it is difficult to detail all the necessary
functionality, but we are confident that ikaSystems will provide all
necessary extra functionality and customization."
The ikaSystems platform is a powerful and scalable HIPAA-compliant
n-tier infrastructure that will support Parkview Health Plan
Services' current and future business requirements.
"The back-end business intelligence and transactional system
streamlines daily HPS processes such as authorizations, claims
adjudication, medical management, utilization management and
front-end transactions by members, employers, providers and
brokers," says Ravi Ika, president and CEO of ikaSystems.
"ikaSystems' technology will be an integral part of our business,
and our goal is to continue to add ikaSystems' functionality to our
environment as our business requirements change," says Henneman.
"With the ikaSystems platform there is no need for additional
software systems."
"As HPS expands the ikaEnterprise system's scalability and easy
configurability will help HPS respond to changing business needs,"
adds Ika.
"The ikaEnterprise system's capability to configure a variety of
different provider, hospital, facility contracts and benefit plans
automatically-rather than manually-will make for a smooth
implementation," says Henneman. "Plus, ikaSystems offers practically
limitless flexibility in the pricing and benefit systems, which will
enable the smooth configuration of HPS business rules into the
system."
